Brain Candy Management is seeking a Music Publishing Intern who will assist in various roles across our synch and publishing department. We are looking for an entrepreneurial creative to join our team and assist us in going beyond the traditional for our clients. The Music Publishing Intern will report directly to the Commander of Publishing. While we’d generally prefer our interns to be based in Nashville, TN we are waiving that requirement for Summer 2021 due to, you guessed it - Covid-19, thus all internships will be remote opportunities, however we now are welcoming local interns as well. Applications close May 10th, 2021.


  • Assist in researching and identifying potential Publishing contacts, clients and partners.

  • Assist in listening to, vetting, accepting or declining new publishing submissions based on BCM’s catalog criteria.

  • Assist in catalog management, including:

    • Organization, conversion of files, data management, and more.

  • Assist in contacting publishers, songwriters, and rights holders to complete database requirements.

  • Assist in publishing clerical duties.

  • Assist in preparing publishing publicity materials such as decks and one sheets.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Currently pursuing a degree related to music business, publishing, or entertainment.

  • Extremely detail oriented, professional rhetoric, and communication skills

  • Knowledge of G Suite. Spreadsheet and database proficiency

  • Must possess a familiarity with various genres and artists, as well as a hunger to learn more.

  • Must possess an understanding of music business/industry vocabulary

  • Must be familiar with copyright laws and publishing 


  • This is an unpaid position

    • College/Trades-school credit is required for this position - letter from administration or proof of credit is required if this position is offered.

  • 10-15 hours per week

  • College/Trade-school credit is required

  • Ability to work remotely via their own device

  • Three month commitment required

    • June 2021 - August 2021
